BELOIT — A 12-episode A&E series called Betting on Beloit will premiere on July 12, featuring ABC Supply co-founder Diane Hendricks, but focusing more on Hendricks’ daughter, Konya Hendricks Schuh.

Hendricks' various Beloit improvement projects over the years have been well documented. The A&E series, though, focuses on a new Hendricks initiative to improve Beloit, Beloit College Park LLC. That entity is buying homes in the historic districts near Beloit College, renovating them and then putting them back on the market.

Among the Beloit College Park LLC projects listed on its website:

* 748 Wisconsin Ave., on the market for $549,900.

* 630 Park Ave., which sold in January for $499,900.

* 721 Park Ave., which sold in December for $699,000.

* 722 Park Ave., which sold in April for $649,900.

* 704 Park Ave., which sold for $365,000 in 2017 and is not yet on the market.

* 749 Park Ave., which sold for $285,000 in 2022 and is not yet on the market.

* 802 Park Ave., which sold for $480,000 in 2021 and is not yet on the market.

* 710 Park Ave., which is not yet on the market.

All of the above houses were remodeled by Corporate Contractors Inc., a Hendricks company. CCI currently is working on 730 Park Ave.

Diane Hendricks will be a familiar face in all of the episodes. In the trailer for the series, Hendricks says “I just want to give back to the community that gave us a chance.”

The Hendricks’ history with Beloit, including the family’s efforts to reimagine the former Beloit Corp. buildings, renovating entire blocks along State and East Grand Avenue and building ABC Supply Stadium, will be included. Diane and Ken Hendricks started ABC Supply Company in 1982 and it’s grown to be the largest wholesale distributor of roofing and other building products with annual sales of more than $20 billion. Hendricks now is the richest person in Wisconsin, worth more than $22.3 billion.

The A&E episodes, though, will center more around her daughter, Konya, her husband, Matt Schuh, a plumbing contractor, and Pete Woodkey, the project manager. Woodkey has worked at CCI for nearly 20 years. Connor Fox, a Realtor, also is included. Connor is the son of Brent Fox, Diane’s oldest son from her first marriage. Brent is CEO of Hendricks Holding Company, which is the parent company of CCI and Beloit College Park LLC.

Diane and Ken Hendricks, who died in 2007, had seven children. Konya, who also is a Realtor, is one of five daughters.

The series is a departure of sorts because the Hendricks family does not routinely seek attention. In 2017, the New York Times did a series of stories on Hendricks’ now nearly 30-year history of investing in Beloit. In 2023, author Alex Grant published “Unstoppable: The Extraordinary Biography of Diane Hendricks,” which is available through online bookstores. Viewers can watch the 22-minute documentary created by Forbes Magazine, “Becoming America’s Richest Self-Made Woman: How Diane Hendricks Built Her ABC Supply Empire” on YouTube.
