Town of Beloit fire station, town hall open house set

TOWN OF BELOIT — Stateline Area residents will get their first look at the new Town Hall and Fire Station 2 in the Town of Beloit during an open house set for Feb. 13.
The new building at 3000 Bartells Drive will welcome guests from 4 — 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13.
The new fire station and town hall, which cost about $9,8 million, was built on the site of the former Town of Beloit Fire Station 2, which was built in 1974. The old fire station was demolished except for the basement.
Construction of the new structure began in July with Frederick Quinn Corp. being the general contractor. Williams Architect was the architect firm for the project and subcontractors included Gilbank Construction, Klobucar Construction, Corporate Contractors Inc., Fanning Excavation and others.
In 2019, the town board of supervisors voted to abandon its former town hall on Afton Road because of a long list of issues, including water damage from a leaking roof, pervasive mold and inoperable restrooms. The town administration has been operating out of Fire Station 1 ever since.
In 2022, the township received a $7.68 million grant from the Wisconsin Department of Administration for the fire station/town hall project. The township used about $800,000 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to help pay for the town hall part of the project.
