BELOIT — Eight sailors from the USS Beloit, including Commander Jason DeJesus, will be in Beloit for a Labor Day weekend of activities, including pickleball and a Sky Carp baseball game.

The USS Beloit, the first naval warship named after Beloit, took six years to build, cost nearly $500 million, and was commissioned in November 2024.

According to the USS Beloit Legacy Foundation, which continues to support the crew of the ship, members of the crew will be at the Beloit Farmers Market at 10 a.m. on Sept. 5 and then at Wootton Park, 1451 Fourth St. at 3 p.m. for an afternoon of pickleball. They will follow that up with a trip to ABC Supply Stadium at 6 p.m. to watch the Sky Carp play as part of USS Beloit Night.
