Head of Beloit's police and fire commission wants to talk about fire/EMS merger

BELOIT — The head of the City of Beloit and Police and Fire Commission wants to check in on how the consolidation of the city and town fire departments is coming along.
On Monday, the commission’s agenda includes “President Dorothy Harrell would like to discuss the consolidation of Fire and EMS Services." The meeting is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. at Beloit City Hall, 100 State St.
In early July, both the the Town of Beloit Board and Beloit City Council unanimously approved the consolidation of the fire departments. The official consolidation of the two departments will go into affect Jan. 1, 2027.
