South Beloit street improvement work to begin soon

SOUTH BELOIT — Street improvement work is expected to begin in only a few weeks in the Misty Meadows subdivision, as well as in areas near South Park Avenue, Wheeler Avenue and Hemenway Place.

City Administrator Sonya Hoppes said street improvement work could begin as soon as the second week of August in the Misty Meadows subdivision. Rock Road Companies was awarded the contract to do the street improvement work this year.

Hoppes said the street improvement project is expected to be complete by the end of September. The Misty Meadows subdivision work will be funded by motor fuel tax (MFT) money while the Wheeler neighborhood project will use local funds, provided through the 1% sales tax increase approved by voters.
